Water Saving Tips for Home Owners AssociationsIs your Homeowner’s Association maximizing the amount of reserves it could be holding?  Our experience with HOA and Community Management is that t elected Board does not always have the time or resources to look for cost savings in every single detail of the Association’s monthly bills (let’s face it, homeowners are busy).  In an effort to help save our homeowners some internet-search time,  we developed a set of potentially money saving tips that can be brought straight into your next Home Owner’s Association meeting.

Tip #1 – Perform a Landscape Audit

Did you know that the typical homeowner uses up to 50% of a home’s total water consumption for irrigation? With this in mind, let us consider the following water-saving suggestions:

-Adjust the sprinkler timers to water one less time a week in the fall and winter months.

-Set irrigation timers to water at night or early morning (all of our properties are set for 4:00am)

-Install a rain and freeze detector

-Have your landscaping company check your sprinkler heads to make sure you have energywater efficient heads.

-Consider repositioning sprinkler heads to remove overlapping sprinklers and eliminate over watering.

Have an outstanding week!  _Trevor
